With the support of UNAIDS, the NGO ALLIANCE.GLOBAL has launched a program to support the LGBTIQ+ community, which includes training courses in various fields.
One of these courses is “Targeted Advertising in Social Networks,” which allows you to learn how to effectively promote your services, products, or ideas on the Internet.
We talked to the first student in our program, Pavlo, who told us about his motives, expectations, and learning results. Pavlo is a recruiter who selects personnel for various fields. He also loves modeling and dreams of opening a bakery with a friend.
Why did you choose the Targeted Social Media Advertising course?
Pavlo: I chose the Targeting course because I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, to set up social media advertising properly, as I’m involved in recruiting in various fields. This is a handy skill for any business, especially in the modern world where more and more people are using the Internet.
What were your expectations from the course?
Pavlo: I hoped the course would be interesting, practical, and understandable. I wanted to learn how to analyze my target audience, create competent advertising concepts, choose the best settings and budget for my advertising campaigns, and measure their effectiveness and optimize them.
How do you evaluate the quality and usefulness of the course you have chosen?
Pavlo: I am delighted with the course. It meets all my expectations. The teacher I chose is very professional, competent, and friendly. He explains everything in detail in a practical and accessible way. However, I still have a lot to learn, but I am persevering.
What are the most essential knowledge and skills you gained from the course?
Pavlo: I gained a lot of helpful knowledge and skills, but the most important for me is
- Understanding the principles and mechanisms of targeted advertising on social media, its advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and limitations.
- Ability to identify your target audience, needs, interests, problems, motivation, behavior, information sources, etc.
- Be able to create practical advertising concepts, considering goals, budget, channels, formats, content, design, headlines, text, calls to action, etc.
- Ability to set up social media advertising campaigns, choosing the best parameters to achieve maximum reach, engagement, conversion, and return on investment.
- Be able to analyze the results of advertising campaigns using various tools and metrics and optimize them as needed.
How do you plan to use these skills professionally or personally?
Pavlo: I plan to use social media to promote my services as a recruiter and my modeling hobby to attract more clients and partners. My girlfriend and I have developed an exclusive recipe for various types of baking, including homemade bread.

Pavlo: I am very grateful to ALLIANCE.GLOBAL and UNAIDS for the opportunity to attend this course free of charge and for other support I received earlier. In particular, the food certificates.
What advice would you give to other LGBTIQ+ people looking for help?
Pavlo: I would tell them to come here because I know from experience that they want to help you.
What are your plans for the future?
Pavlo: To finish the course and immediately start working in this field. However, my friend and I dream of opening a bakery to make pastries according to our exclusive recipe. We are looking for grants that could help us start such a business.
Do you want to continue your education and development? If so, tell us more about it.
Pavlo: I would also like to take a course in copywriting to learn how to write texts correctly because it is extremely important in my field.
